SELECTION CRITERIA

Selection of the scholarship recipient will be based on the candidates desire to further their education and enhance their career in law enforcement. Criteria for selecting the recipient include:

Member in classified good standing of the Houston Police Department.
Commitment to undertake or continued enrollment in an accredited two or four year institution of higher education.
Personal statement from the applicant on why they are applying and describe their qualifications.
Names of three references: one supervisor, one peer, and a reference from the department.
Completion of the application form.
